A baseball game took place at Fort Abercrombie, south of Fargo, in March, 1864, meaning baseball has been played in what is now North Dakota for more than 150 years.
The population of the state has always been too small to support professional baseball except at the lowest level of the minor leagues, but the state has a long and rich history nonetheless. This website was developed in order to share research I have done on early baseball in North Dakota. Please visit the various pages that follow for more information about different topics. I would welcome any questions, thoughts, or ideas for additional areas of research. I can be contacted at 701-471-7725 or by email at [email protected]. Terry Bohn |
